I can start to hear the moans now. Not from the zombies, but from my readers because I’m going to review a Facebook game. That’s right, a Facebook game. In Zombie Lane, you play a clueless citizen in a town over taken by zombies. The zombies don’t try to kill you, but they try to tear up your shit. That does get annoying. Unlike many Facebook game, this one is pretty interactive. Not that Mafia Wars crap that is mindless menu clicking. You control your character by clicking on the various objects on the screen (zombies, rubble, fences, house, ect.) Your job is to collect the items needed for the missions by killing the required zombies, or clearing the appropriate rubble. You are rewarded by being able to customize your home to make it look better as well as your character, your spouse, and your dog too. Some upgrades provide item that make your game a lot easer, like the Bar-B-Que for instance that makes food for you which you can use to replenish your energy.
From what I can tell the game takes games like Treasure Island, and Farmville, mixes some zombies into it and adds a dash of slightly better interaction. If you’re into those kinds of games, this will be a fun experience for you. If not, do yourself a favor and skip this game. To be fare this is just based on playing up to level 5, so maybe something else is added to this game that I’ve yet to stumble across to make it more entertaining. I’m going to play it for a week and see if my opinion is changed, but I doubt it.
