About
The Dead Future started out life as a hosting site for a comic anthology of the same name. Daniel Palmer took on blog writing duties shortly there after, bringing to life the imminent threat of an undead apocalypse As the comic began to wrap up the content added by Daniel started to become center stage. Since then the comic has been retired (you can still buy printed/digital copies of the collection, which help to support the site.) and Daniel’s blog has taken on the main focus of the site. The Dead Future blog now features content as related to the paranormal, be it through apocalypse preparation or just general information. So please join us as we allow the Penguin Prince to prepare us for the Dead Future.
A letter from your host:
Writer, Dreamer, Zombie Fanatic
My first dive into the world of horror and science fiction was when my best friend invited me to play a RPG called Vampire: The Masquerade. I was 18. Understand that up until that point in my life I was completely sheltered from anything considered macabre. No horror movies, no scary stories. On that cold, November, Saturday night of my first game I stepped into a world I had only heard about in faint whispers, and I never looked back.
Although vampires were the first monster I brought into my life, it wouldn’t be until several months later when I happened across a book in which I would find my passion and fully immerse me into the world of strange creatures and paranormal oddities. A single book caught my eye as I walked the isles of then mega book store Borders. The Zombie Survival Guide. Max Brooks single handedly sparked my imagination and quickly became the epicenter of my interest in the paranormal. I inhaled his book unlike any other I have ever read and then quickly followed it up with his award winning novel, World War Z. It was then I knew that zombies would forever become the monster that I loved, feared, and embraced.
I quickly studied everything I could get my hands on regarding the paranormal. Anything from Tarot Card Readings to Psychic Vampires. Ghosts, Aliens, Gods, and Demons, I am now determined to learn everything there is to know about the world that lies just beyond our reach. Will you join me in that quest?
As a writer I started my career with a simple comic in the zombie anthology series this blog is named after Dead Future (Grim Crew/Raven Warren Studios). Shortly thereafter I volunteered to help more with the company and take over the blogging duties for the comic book website. I have now been blogging regularly for the site for just over two years and I look forward to continue sharing my findings, experiences, and feelings with you.
Sincerely,
Daniel Palmer
