Guys Zombie news this week is sparse. Not much happened..The biggest story to come across the headlines came out of New York City as the popular cable company tv station AMC took drastic measures to get them back on the air. Dish network had dropped AMC along with several other stations due to a lawsuit that has been going on for years. AMC claims that they have nothing to do with that lawsuit, and dropping their station was nothing but a stunt in attempt to get consumers to side with them.
So in order to bring awareness to the unfair treatment, AMC protested the one way they knew how. A viral marketing campain has been started in an effort to bring up their side of this story. The campaign? The NYC Zombie Experiment. AMC runleashed the zombies from The Walking Dead on the residence of NYC in all of their gory. To say they caused a fright might me an understatement.
The makup artests from the show outdid themselves as they turned several actors into zombies and released them on the streets of New York to see what kind of reaction they would get. The majority of the reactions were exactly what you would expect.
And how would you react if you saw this serving you your afternoon hot dog? The screams are well deserved with everyone made up from taxi drivers to construction workers, from police officers to EMT’s the zombies were placed in just the right spots to get the reactions of the unsuspecting citizens. For those few that got the joke and took pictures instead of running the other way? Kudos to you.
The final scene shows a zombie dragging a Dish Network satellite dish down the street. With the words “Zombies don’t belong here. Put them back on TV.” Flashing across the screen their message couldn’t be more clear. If you agree, check out their website http://putzombiesback.com for more information from AMC’s point of view and for a free tool to help you find a provider that will give you the shows from AMC that you love.
